The look speaks for the inner workings of the new Yamaha MT 10 anno 2022: The future begins here. Unique technologies and a look like something out of a science fiction clip. Out of the darkness and into the darkness. Mysterious, poisonous and dangerous, as if riding the devil through the night.
Impressive, simply impressive, this look. The designers have shown courage and reached into the color pots with a lot of creativity. The design is cool, futuristic and anything but conventional. A bold design that deserves praise. The design alone attracts buyers, but what else does the new MT 10 have to offer? State-of-the-art technologies that will amaze any expert.
Anyone who has ever taken a ride on a "naked" from Yamaha knows it feels like riding a wild beast, well, probably not quite that bad. But the power is very surprising to the unsuspecting rider. The MT 10's engine catapults the rider into the saddle with 112 Nm of torque, or onto the road, as the case may be. For comparison: The R1 super sports bike brings it to 113 Nm, so only 1 Nm more, despite significantly higher power. In other words, quite a lot gets onto the road here.
The roaring sound is not something that impresses, can please, but can also annoy, depending on the type, but it appeals to a younger class of drivers, that's for sure and especially types who are brushed with revolution and freedom. And the revolution against the conventional, the usual, is certain with it. The cockpit is functional and not for design gurus. It quickly tells you what you need to know.
In contrast, the latest driving technology speaks very much for class and science fiction in the motorcycle sector. Deeply concealed in the lightweight Deltabox frame, sophisticated electronic rider assistance systems ensure that the rider retains optimum control of the machine. Customizable high-tech systems such as Traction Control (TCS), Slide Control (SCS), Lift Control (LIF), Engine Brake Management (EBM) and Brake Control (BC) ensure riding comfort and safety that are second to none. But there's more: Besides the cruise control, which I find superfluous, there's also a "speed limiter", which limits the speed depending on the setting, e.g. very suitable in 20- and 30-km zones, so that you don't get a hell of a fine there or even a lawsuit, just because you misjudged the throttle for a short moment. And there's the "Bidirectional Quick Shift System (QSS)", which allows the driver to shift up with the throttle fully open without having to use the clutch. And as a "treat" on top, there's the new angled tire valves - really slanted - so that the air pumps can be connected more easily. Anything else?
Yes, the part is made for knights of the present, who sit high upright on the machine and ride proudly through the area. They enjoy an irrepressible power and an extreme agility and this from proud CHF 15'990.00. Who has the money, can sit 'times on it. Good ride!
