Yamaha's special YZF-R1M model, which can only be ordered online, sold out after a short time in 2015. Yamaha expects further strong demand for the model and has decided to produce the model for 2016. From October 1, 2015, interested customers will have the opportunity to order the model online. The special model is aimed at professional or accomplished racers, as many high-quality components such as Öhlins damping elements with ERS (Electronic Racing Suspension), carbon fairing parts and the important electronic interface CCU are sometimes fitted as standard. The YZF-R1M offers ambitious riders access to Yamaha's Moto GP technology developed for the M1 factory machine.
Yamaha Racing Experience (YRE)
New customers can also register for access to the Yamaha Racing Experience. The events will take place in late spring 2016. Following the success of the inaugural event in July 2015, led by Moto GP legend Colin Edwards, Yamaha is planning further YRE events in 2016 with proven program items such as vehicle preparation, set-up plus numerous laps on the circuit. With its electronic assistance systems, sophisticated chassis and highly tuned engine, the YZF-R1M is a highly complex machine that must be perfectly tuned. Experienced Yamaha Racing technicians will show owners of the 2016 model year how to fine-tune their bike to unlock its full potential on the race track. In addition to presentations and workshops, owners of the YZF-R1M are to take rider courses with qualified instructors and professional racers. But also the team spirit among Yamaha riders should be strengthened.
